...this was my third time and it was the best yet and very well run for any organization. There were one hundred people less than lest year...350 total...and it was much less crowded and more enjoyable. It was also the most profitable of the past five years netting $160,000...of which not a single penny will be explained to Magpie Yonan or her ex-lover Sargon Dadeeshoo... Only one speaker was allowed, the surgeon responsible for bringing an Iraqi baby here for heart surgery...one piano recital, short sweet and very well played by an Assyrian woman...the food was even the best I've had at these functions although I still think they should do away with the roast squab course or pigeon which still looks like a rat...other than that all the food was excellent and the wines of course. I seem to have been rehabilitated..three years ago they refused my donated sculpture because some board members had issues with me...people don't have much experience with Assyrians so I'm sure I seem very exotic...but this year I was seated next to important people...and a few made a point of coming over to chat and shake hands...I know I haven't changed, so maybe they have. Although I don't believe in what the AID society is doing...meaning I think it's counter-productive in the long run to single out Christian Iraqis for help...when they should think of themselves as Iraqis, or now Kurditanis..and all thanks to the foreign Christians who ruined Iraq...still, I won't refuse my help just because it can't be MY way...so I'm happy they accepted the piece I donated to them this year....which received the higest bid of all...bringing in $15,000. I know the money will be put to good use, as far as their program goes...buying ten times its value in badly needed medicines...which the Christians attacking Iraq...and raping and urinating on the people there...have all but outlawed from the country. Plus which 87% of every dollar raised goes to actual relief efforts and on the day of the dinner Narsai received a call from Arbil where a shipment of medicine had just arrived. Always glad to help...my hatred makes me do stuff like that...while Jumblat is filled with Christian love and never did a thing for anybody. --------------------- |
