...we've been fighting there, that is killing families, for 15 years....Obama said he would end that war...now he says he's leaving 5000 US soldiers there to the end of his term, which means this war goes into the term of the next president.

He says the usual bullshit about how "we're almost there"...or, "We can't leave now..or we'll just have to come back".

Can you imagine 300,000 US troops sent anywhere during WW II and failing at their objective, for 15 years, to be replaced by 5000, who will "hold the line"?

That war isn't meant to be won...not in conventional terms....it's meant to be a funnel for funds from Treasury and America's Pawn Broker, to the warmongers.

Now there's a political reason as well....Dems have forced Repubs increasingly to the Right fringes by moving closer to the Right themselves...if Obama actually reduces the fight in Afghanistan the Repubs, who USED to be the party to "keep us safe" will have an issue in the presidential elections coming up...they'll be able to show the Dems as "weak on defense"...so several US soldiers will be put at risk for political gain, which is nothing new...not even for a Black president....
