....for some years I´ve carried around a slim book by this fellow, an assyrian with actual degrees...unfortunately his advanced degree is in Voodoo, otherwise known as "theology" which is nothing less than the study of witchcraft, with pants on, trying to be respectable. Until this week I never read it.

...his family suffered the usual blah blah at the hands of Muslims...he begins with a few pages about the glories of the ancient Assyrians and thankfully does not knock them but defends them against Euro slanders....so far so good.

And then he makes that smooth transition from claiming to be related to the ancients, to being all Christians today...he goes on to scold modern assyrians for not living up to their glorious heritage and being the bums of the modern era where once they were masters....okay so far.

But the solution he offers, what he says is lacking and what keeps us in the basement and back alley of the world today is our lack of UNITY!

To me, these calls for unity are bogus...they are really a way of saying "join with ME"...and my church, of course. Who in the world is unified? What does it mean...do we all have to be unified in our liking of cheese....in dress....in cars....in tastes? People are NOT unified for a good reason...just as children do NOT grow up like their parents, thank god, or there would never have been any progress from the primordial swamp...and we´d still be eating each other raw because that´s how dear old dad and mom did things...they were all UNIFIED in their dietary habits and preferences.

But what makes Tallia´s solution to our problem so funny is that he is LUTHERAN...in other words, a Protestant...which offshoot of the Church was dreamed up in EUROPE! He, or his recent ancestors, CONVERTED away from the Churches of the East...in other words they broke the UNITY of the Nestorian branch of Christianity...and Tallia, bless his un-unified soul, maintains their DISUNITY by remaining faithful and UNIFIED with Euro Lutheranism....and he comes now chanting UNITY, UNITY, UNITY!

And all it means is that the rest of you join with ME and my Euro-church! Let´s all be unified in DISUNITY...and this is his solution to our problems?

See...a degree in theology just makes a Cheerleader out of you...at the price of your brains, if you started with any.
