...or they would have had he tried his foolishness today.

In the news I see the trial of a man convicted of murdering his father when he was 18 years old. The young man says God told him he had to sacrifice his father...so he did.

Sound familiar?

You can imagine the radio chatter as the cops put the cuffs on Abraham. They would have told headquarters that, "subject hogtied young son and was poisedto slit his throat as police pulled up. After his arrest subject claimed he wasn't really going to go through with it...when asked why the change of mind, subject replied that God, who told him to scarifice his son in the first place, had changed his mind. Officers are skeptical."

The point is that if you're going to let even one person get away murder by claiming that God told him it was okay, even laudable...then where do you draw the line? Fortunately no one, least of all a travelling salesman, can get away with such murderous stuff today...although they try.

A murderer is a murderer, no matter who tells him to murder.

note: This bloody God finally got his wish when his own son was tortured and killed, as per his wishes.
