...how she ever got her job I´ll never know...I mean on national teevee...she isn´t like the other hacks, simply a mouthpiece...she has a doctorate in political science, and is a Rhodes scholar....the only thing I can think of is that corproate types decided the best way to silence her was promote her to their class, the class of journalists who make huge amounts of money and eventually come over to the Dark Side....

Right now she says that the political story of this year is not who the Republicans will back against Obama, it isnt even about politicians...but about the people, especially the revolt among Republicans against the union-stripping legislation in states and the attack on Medicare...also how this has galvanized the Democrats lie nothing has in decades....

And then today she has a story about how Democrats can still manage to snatch deafest from the jaws of victory....while people in the states are lashing out at Republicans, and while Democrats are being handed the perfect campaign issues, in Massachusettes the Democratically dominant House has just adopted similar union-stripping legislation! Now why is that...wonders Maddow? Is it just the usual Democratic ineptness? Can they NOT see what a great gift Republicans have handed them? Why on earth would any Democratic body COPY this disasterous move?

The answer is because the Democrats are as much in bed with money as the Republicans, only they have to not APPEAR to be, as much. This is what gives people the illusion that there are two, distinct parties, instead two sides of the same party....why indeed? The Republicans, Bush included, did the "outrageous" things...they took two steps backwards, so to speak. The Democrats then come along, riding into power on a wave of public discontent and making campaign promises that they will make things better, and they then proceed to take ONE step forward...for which they demand praise....meanwhile the people are left now still backwards, but by only ONE STEP.

Democrats will blow this opportunity, but not by accident...not because they are "too dumb" or "clueless"...it should no longer be a puzzle why they behave like this...they behave like this because this is their PURPOSE..they are the ones who make sure than enough of the "dastardly" Republican program stays in place! The Republicans go too far on purpose, and the purpose of the Democrats is to bring them back just enough to get all that the money-mad thought they could get away with all along.

It´s a team effort...it isn´t stupidity on the part of EITHER party..it´sd a well calculated, planned method of proceeding....one side goes "extreme", the other side gets back to "normal"...except that for thirty years "normal" has moved way to the Right...way WAY to the Right. Democrats will wind up cementing into place the version of union-stripping Republicans knew they could get away with all along...just as Obama has institutionalized all Bush really thought he could away with and make part of the new "normal".

That´s what the rtole of the Democratic Party has become....it is not an alternative, it is the INSURER...the guarantor, the enshriner, the guardian of Republican policies.
