Jihad simply means struggle. And someone who struggles is a "mujahid". It's nothing to do with holy or wars. Any kind of struggle can be jihad. Holy war is not jihad, it's "harab al muqadas" in Arabic and it's nowhere in Quran or Muhammad's traditions. There is nowhere in Islamic traditions where jihad is used to mean holy war. Holy war was originally used by the crusades against Muslims. It was the CIA who spent tons of money and stole that word, jihad, and turned it to mean holy war. And with the help of Al Qaeda, it became ruined as a word but its true meaning has nothing to do with war or even Islam. I have a struggle with cigarettes. I love to smoke and I can't stop. That's my jihad(struggle). Little toro is addicted to my dick, that's his struggle. The more he strives to resist it, the more he's being a mujadid(someone who struggles). It can be any kind of struggle but holy war is not what it means. --------------------- |
