Jihad means crusade, or internal struggle, or an inner-cleansing. But I could be wrong... Rashad?? And the Iran/Iraq war was not because of the lice-ridden Khomeini, it was because the Shah refused to take heed of Zbigniew Brzezinski's heavy-handed military response, not because he cared about murdering his own people (although he said he didn't want his son to pay for the blood he was about to spill), but it was because he was told by his masters to allow the military to execute a coup d'etat, and put down the rebellion Pinochet-style. The reason he refused was because he feared that a coup would set a precedent that in the future could be used against him by the same military upon which he depended to secure his position as Malka. He even asked the Mossad to assassinate Khomeini, but they refused. So he left Iran, just as he did in '53 when Mossadegh had gained power, possibly hoping that the CIA/M-I6 would repeat what they did back then. But as Bush Jr. so eloquently said: "fool me once... uh.. shame on me... fool me twice.... uh.. we won't get fooled again".. (thank you Pete Townsend and the Who)... So what was left was for the neighborhood tough guy, Saddam to attack Iran, as he did, and for a war of attrition to erupt and destroy both Mid East power houses, while the super powers made a killing selling both sides weapons. --------------------- |
