And furthermore, just like in Libya, Iraq and other places, a lot of those "rebels" aren't even Syrians at all. They are foreigners who come in there and do the dirty work for the west. Just about everyone knows the US is fully behind and supporting those rebels. Now imagine if Iran or some other country was supporting the southern rebels during the time of Lincoln. Even if the rebels are Syrian, what business of the US is it? Syria is tougher and different from Libya. For one, Syria has a bigger population, bigger military and better and has support. The government of Syria has enough support from within. A leader can only last and be strong if his people are behind him, and one can see that in Cuba where Castro had lasted 50 years. Assad may not be the best president of a country but the majority of Syrians are pleased with him and they just seen what happened in Iraq when another dictator was removed. Extremists have taken over Libya and the same would happen in Syria and that's because the US wants exactly that. They don't mind dictatorships and "radicals" as long as they are on the side of Washington. Romney and Gingrich made that clear when they said they expect a country to have the interests of the US in mind. What about their own interests? How silly that is. --------------------- |
