Well, I would agree with Hitchens on that since there are Christian-Leftists such as the Nicaraguan Sandinistas... but, I still find it oxymoronic to be a Marxist and a religionist. I feel that the Sandinistas had to compromise since the majority of their population were Catholic.. so, they just played along. I feel the same with Iran's M.E.K., they have to throw Islam in their program because as Marxists, no one would have accepted them... Although, these days, many Muslims in Iran, including some of my cousins, have not only converted to Evangelical Christianity (what bullshit!!!) but have gone so far as tattooing the crucifix on their flesh as a means of rebellion. (oh... and every picture they send me, is with a bottle of booze as a prop of rebellion... the funny thing is, most Persians call us all not Christians, or Asuri, but Armani).. I think they should stick to their opium instead of religion - any religion.)
