Was this a recent episode? That's one of the only things I watch on TV besides some sports. It's funny that everyone who travels through Iraq/Mesopotamia forgets to mention Assyrians. They must all be "afraid" of them so they don't mention them. It's like the history Chanel, National Geographic etc all have shows on indigenous tribes all over the world but no mention of Aprim and his sister. My sister has a book on ancient Assyria from her library and it never mentions a group of Christians in Iraq being Assyrian. However, the book does show pictures of modern Iraqis(mostly Arabs and Muslims) who are on boats fishing and under the image it said "a modern Iraqi using same techniques as his Babylonian ancestors when fishing". No mention of Christians in Iraq as Assyrians but it does refer to the ancients as the ancestors of Iraqis. That makes much more sense than the story given by Aprim and Qasha Shalita from some weird named village who walks barefoot and showers one time per week maybe. --------------------- |
