...an Iranian assyrian friend of mine said that in Iran being Christian is what made them different, made them stand out, special...but in the West everyone is a Christian so there isn't anything special about them any more....so being assyrian became the big deal..the way to get people to notice and ask questions...to be imprressed etc.

...think of a German who forgets his German language, learns French instead, moves to Italy AND becomes a Buddhist, telling us, 1000 years later that he is still German BECAUSE he speaks French!!! That's right...that's his proof that he is German...because he speaks FRENCH!!! And that as a Buddhist, he is MORE assyrian than he was when he WAS Assyrian...and that only Buddhists can be assyrian....what else is this if not advanced stupidity....?
