That's because Muslims didn't give a shit which Christian sect was the "true" one so all were accepted as "people of the book" and had legal status as citizens of the state. Of course this didn't sit well with Byzantium because all those in the east were considered heretics. It was Muslims who stopped the persecution and are responsible for their survival to this day. Had it not been for the Arabs, nestorians and others would have been annihilated as happened with some of the heretical groups in Europe. I was reading about one heretical group that was hidinginside of a Catholic cchurch in France and even that didn't spare them from the Vatican and orders were given by the pope to kill them all. All the things Christians have done and are still doing today in places like Iraq and parts of Africa is ignored while all the attention is on the few people who happened to be Muslim and are fighting back. The focus is on the beheading and suicide bombers and not the missiles and fighter jets etc. The world has been convinced that Muslims are just war loving people who hate technology and civilization while the US just wants to bring freedom and keep the world safe.
