On the front cover of one of Aprim's books he shows a photo of an ancient Assyrian ruin, still in the ground, with a young boy in peasant dress standing next to it. The message is clear; stand next to something and it belongs to you. I'm reminded of the country cousin who comes to the big city and seeks to impress the folks back home with his success...so he has a picture taken of himself standing in front of a fancy car....his foolih relatives are supposed to believe that he is the car's owner...likewise with all the noise about being Assyrian...because these people were born in a land where their homes were "next to" Assyrian ruins, they feel the ARE Assyrian. --------------------- |
