Did you get a nice tan at Guantanamo? Seriously though Taoro, to make things interesting and not redundant and boring, just make a statement, back it up with real historical evidence (refraining from the Bible and Assyrian nationalist literature) and proceed from there as in a real debate or exchange. You must be interested in what Pancho has to say for you to keep coming back. Use your own words (I certainly have no University degree or expertise... I can talk your ear off about Italian neo-realist cinema of post WW2), other than that, I'm just another bloke expressing what I do know and learning what I don't. Prior to discovering this Forum, I was one of the people out there advocating for Assyrians. If you recall in 2008 when Archbishop Paulos Faraj Rahho was kidnapped and killed, I was furious!! But why was he killed? Fortunately, thanks to Pancho, Rashad and Jeffrey, I was able to put this complex issue in better perspective. So, let's get serious and learn from one another rather than throw the same insults around each time. And... Pancho - whether you know it or not - has done much more for our community than most of the tough guys who want to send our youth to Iraq to get their asses handed to them by war-hardened Qurds and Arabs. It does no good for the Assyrians in Iraq to have the keyboard warriors in the diaspora making things worse for their living conditions there.. And the Qurdish government are corrupt and despised by Qurds themselves... They're nothing more than tools for the U.S. and Israel to have a foothold to be able to infiltrate Iranian and Iraqi politics.... which are corrupt as shit, also. In short, Power to the People... All people, no matter Muslim, Christian, Jewish, or whatever. That's all I've got to say, and as you've noticed, I don't get too involved in Assyrian issues... there are bigger players in the game to focus on... Assyrians are just the side-effect, or an unintended (or intended) outcome of Sykes-Picot and the promises and lies of the imperialists. --------------------- |
