I'd love to meet her!! She's an amazing journalist.. I need to read some of her books. My understanding is that when she was covering the East Timor massacres by the Indonesian army, it was her friend, Allan Narin, who saved her life and ended up with (almost) getting his whole head blown off. I need to watch Wednesday's show, I think she interviews Narin. To my limited knowledge, the journalists that I find profound and commmitted are: Seymour Hersch, Robert Fisk, Amy, Allan Narin, and the wonderful, Jeremy Scahil... there are, of course, other men and women with whom I'm not familiar. Please add to the list if you know any of them... and don't put Anderson Pooper.. Oh, yes... Greg Palast.. love the guy, writes for the Guardian U.K., and the Observer (I think). --------------------- |
