I asked him where was this "Assyrian pride" in the lat 2,000 years? Why were they able to build monuments as Christians and walk all the way to India to preach Nestorianism . " > >REPLY >>> > >This is the way HUMANE beings operate, a nation CAN'T achieve glorious history always, there is a passage in the BIBLE/ NEW TESTAMENT, which says, " Nations will rise and nations will fall but the KINGDOM of CHRIST will stay always ." Well it is natural for kingdoms to come and fall at some point maybe I am being a little unrealistic. >No question, when we became CHRISTIANS , we submitted to it even to a point preferred to die for it, and Christianity is not EARTHY ACHIEVEMENTS, but hoping that to be rewarded after death. > >It is true we as Assyrians in the last 2000 years or more never did anything to be proud of, the same could be applied to the Arab Muslims who achieved a vast empire in a short time in history , but in the span of ( 1300 ) YEARS never did anything, they never produce another Khalid Ibn Al-Walid , the only pride they got to call the ATATURK /KAMAL MUSTAPHA of TURKEY a KHALID of the ARAB MUSLIMS ! like calling George Bush our king SARGON or TIGLATH ! You're right about that and except for the nationalistc Turks or more like the western Turks, most people dislike Ataturk. I noticed like the Turks from easter Asia like Turkestan, Uyghurs, Uzbeks etc don't always like the actions of Turkey. They criticize them for kissing the westerner's shoes in order to enter Europe and that is true. I wouldn't do all that in order to become accepted in Europe. >It is crystal clear that the Arab Muslims also recorded the most devastated defeat and humiliation IN SPITE of their enormous in numbers when they faced ISRAEL in 1967 of less than three million people , do you remember that ! Yes I know about the war of 1967. >I remember a very funny story in the first years I was here that I have a Friend from JORDAN who told me that Mohammed Clay( a Boxer ) defeated his opponent , because he was a MUSLIM, and that was about few months after the six day war of 1967 , then I replied to him and said are you serious ? he said yes, then I said COULD YOU TELL ME WHY YOUR ISLAM didn't save you from less than three million Israeli ? He was silence and didn't say a word ! Yeah, lol there are lots of such people. Like they'll say such and such was because of such and such. I just laugh at that. It's just like I had a Muslim friend who got hit by a car and was put in a coma and my family was trying to say it's because he's Muslim, I said then what would you say about something like that happening to a Christian, Jew, Hindu or whatever. I don't take such mentalities serious. But you're right about your reply, thanks. --------------------- |
