Rashad, I agree. But no matter if I live under communism or capitalism, I'm always going to be critical of the society and set of circumstances under which I live. Not because I'm an asshole who likes complain, or as my hippie friends would say, "you're so negative, dude.. what's with the bad vibes?" I just think it's healthy to always question the staus quo and set the bar higher. That's why I feel artists, philosophers, poets, and comics are important to every society. I always go back to Woody Allen's film "Bananas" where he joins a Latin American revolutionary group to topple a dictator and finds out that the revolutionary leader (who's a mix between Che and Fidel) is completely insane when he makes a speech saying "From this day on, the official language of San Marcos will be Swedish. Silence! In addition to that, all citizens will be required to change their underwear every half-hour. Underwear will be worn on the outside so we can check. Furthermore, all children under 16 years old are now... 16 years old!" --------------------- |
