> -- When one pulls a 'Hitchens' by doing a political U-turn, then some light must also be shed on whether he truly believed all the incredibly, lucid arguments with which in my estimation he had destroyed all of his fellow opponents on the question of the supernatural vs. materialism. Could Hitchens have also privately made a philosophical turnaround from materialism to spirituality? Especially when faced with a sudden and sadly immediate death sentence?

...I don't think so....he was asked that very thing and denied it in his usual style. That would have been too much...I mean if he found god just because he was dying...did he expect NOT to die? One turn-around was enough.
