They wanted proof of the Assyrian name being used after the fall of our empire. So this is what I found online (all these sites have sources)

....Wikipedia is not a scholalrly or authoritateive source...you canīt reference them on your dissertation. Hell, you might as well refer to Aprimīs "books". Besides which the mere mention of the Assyrian name after the fall of empire does not mean there were self-consciois Assyrians around....we still read in history books about "Gaul"...but we know it doesnīt exist any more...it is now France. Just because you can find references to "Gaul" doesnīt mean there is such a country now...or any Gauls either.

>Now show me where the name Chaldean was ever mentioned in history after the fall of the empire? Why was it that only the Assyrian named was used time and time again up until modern day?

...the Nestorians, who now claim to be Assyrians and were "all along", first s"discovered" that they too were Chaldean...when the Catholic church wooed back some Nestorian heretics and gave them the name "Chaldean"...but after the archaeological discoveries in the 1800s those who had been calling themselves Nestorian Chaldeans, decided to become Assyrians instead. The Assyrian name was NEVER used until the 1840s...before that we all called ourselves "Suryaye"..and it is too silly and tedious to go through the "lost A" nonsense yet again. Wew had no consciousness at all of being descended from the ancient Assyrians until Euros put the idea into our head...the mere mention of the word "Assyrian" throughout history does not mean Assyrians were around...I will now "mention" Chinese...that doesnīt make me Chinese.

...but it is precisely these kinds of weak-headed people who rant the most about "what we know"...mostly because they know very little and decide to make the best of it.

Why is it that there is a field called Assyriology and not Chaldology, Mesopotamialogy, or Sumerology?

Because thatīs what Euros decided to call this field of study..and yet in all museums there are Chaldean artifacts etc. Itīs just that the majority of what was uncovered happened to be Assyrian in origin...so the name stuck. It proves nothing that there is no "Chaldology"...there is no real book written by Aprim...but he still writes tham.

Here are a few words from a world renown Assyrilogist. Listen to him.

Parpola is an expert on anchient Assyrians...he is an amateur on modern claims...Dr Joseph is the expert on modern claims and does not present himself as also an expert in Assyriology, a field he did not train in...no more than Parpola is trained in modern Middle Eastern History, which is the heading under which the people of that region are to be found. Parpola has some pet theories and since he flatters our nationalists naturally they like everything he says and see no reason to pokle around into his reasoning or credentials...something they only do with Dr Joseph because his scholarly approach pisses them off when it fails to stroke their balls.

>I think Dr. Simon Parpola does a great job in this interview. Ask the Chaldeans what language they speak.. They will tell you Sureth. Now listen to Dr. Simon Parpola. He will explain to you the origin of this word. He has studied Assyrian history from ancient times to this day. Very sad that a foreign person like him has to prove to you that you are indeed Assyrian.

... he has NOT studied Assyrians to "this day"...he has read some books, thought some thoughts and, since he doesnīt know any better, has concocted a version of "modern" Assyrian history that he likes...and we flatter ourselves with.

..it was sadder that we have managed to produce only one academic and scholar in the field of MODERN history and that we refuse to listen to him while we run after Euros, who first did the damage to us by telling us we were somehow special and different from the Muslims among whom we lived and, worst of all, that therefore we had some legitimate claim to land in Iraq and an exemption from the law of sedition...which has cost us dearly.

This garbage has to be put in its place for good and all time.
>
>Now can I please see some proof of the Chaldean identity?

...yes certainly...the same proof you offer for your claims...the name Chaldean is mention all over the place...there is a language the speakers call Chaldean...and they claim to have originated in a part of Iraq once known as Chaldea...and thatīs all it takes...because itīs all you have to prove you are Assyrian.

..and donīt be too upset that this post of yours was banned from a forum...this post of mine would be banned from the one you are now on....our own forum is the only one that wonīt ban anyone.
