Anyone who believes the Turks committed a genocide is either ignorant of this matter or simply prejudice. In the case of those who believe a genocide took place, most accept it because the Turks are evil in their eyes and because they are Muslims. But there are western historians, who are honest and free of prejudice, that have denied a genocide. The Turks have never denied that some Armenians were killed but what Turkey has denied, and rightly so, is that a genocide occurred or had such intentions. The genocide claim falls apart when one simply looks at how Armenian communities throughout Turkey were unharmed, churches carried on as usual and they were at no time under attack. The Turks did not go from house to house throughout the country looking for Armenians, but that is what Germans did with Jews. I believed in this genocide myth at one point too and even stood in the rain like fool during a demonstration but I know better today and never again. I believe in justice and respect for everyone but I also believe i truth and honesty. Give me honesty over money, fame and anything else. --------------------- |
