...Hitchens was in a debate with a venerable old Rabbi who actually had the nerve to say his son cried more at his first hair cut than he did at his circumcision....I'd like to grab anyone who thinks it doesn't hurt and snip a piece of his flesh off...I've heard other Jews also claim the babies don't cry at all...bullshit. This is a perfect example of how religion forces people to do bad things...things which our laws and common decency would forbid....not only is it painful but infection can set in and worst of all, and maybe intentional, is diminished sensitivity because the tip of the penis becomes calloused with constant rubbing. The foreskin is a marvelous adaptation mean to keep men CLEAN and protected, assuming of course the damn fools wash once in a while. To claim it causes penile cancer and there fore should be removed, if nothing else than as a medical precaution means we should cut off all breasts on girls when they reach puberty, as a medical precaution, because far more women die of breast cancer than men do of penile cancer. This thing started out among half-savages over 2000 years ago with no clue as to medical anything....and we are to believe that just coincidentally it turned out to have great health benefits? Right. Circumcision is another great money-maker and doctors would be loathe to let it go. But the real fear is the Jews when we have to tell them their religious beliefs do not trump our laws..if they haven't the decency and humanity to abandon this barbarism then we shall have to do it for them...that's the reason people are desperate to find some medical justification for it....but it's infant mutilation pure and simple and another example of how religion teaches lawlessness and barbarity while it is we human beans who develop compassion and right Reason. --------------------- |
