One time when I worked at a newsstand in N.Hollywood, there was a Jewish guy who'd come in twice a week, always polite and kind (he thought I was Jewish because I pronounced the name of the Hebrew paper "not like a Goy"). Anyway, this guy, who would openly wish death and mayhem upon the Arabs, had a fit when I told him that I'm a former Catholic and don't believe in religion, or god, or the Bible. He gave me the same weak, generic line and argument about "morality". He told me "Hitler didn't believe in god... Stalin blah blah"... Unfortunately, back then (I was 19), I didn't know how much of the Nazis' ideology, especially Uncle Adolf's, was derived from Catholicism, or how the Pope and the Church coddled the Party; or that our present Pope was a Hitler Youth and had knelt down and kissed the Fuher's boot upon seeing him; or how Jews from New York, L.A., Miami, Kiev, etc. torture and kill Palestinians so as to steal what's left of their land, claiming the Bible authorizes murder and theft and greed. If that's "morality", then I'm an immoral person, and I rejoice in it. --------------------- |
