I always thought badly of the ancient Greeks, among others, for exposing certain babies to die....what made them do it...how did they choose which ones....was it always girls? Then I read somewhere that parents of feeble or deformed babies left them to die for fear of what would become of them when the parents died...with no social security or government programs, what would become of a darling but retarded or severely handicapped child...what cruelties would it be subjected to, what neglect?

It's a tough call....but it doesn't have to be made today.....if we choose to we can care for all babies...and if we can get the fucking pope out of our beds we might begin to limit unwanted pregnancies...something this planet has to eventually accept.

I would worry about a child of mine if I was to die young with a couple of pre-teens and no one to care for them...
