I was reading a book on ancient Assyrians and in it was a letter written by a King Shamshi Adad to one of his sons who wasn't doing a good job ruling over a certain territory he was in charge of. In the letter, king Shamshi says to his son "what's the matter with you, have you no beard, are you no man?". I thought was so cool and then you look at Assyrians today and they want to resemble the White guy they seen on billboards doing a Camel cigarette advertisement. Our people make fun of a person with a beard and say it's for Muslims and for homeless looking people but the ancients all had nice beards with braids.
