The one thing which angers me most about America is this arrogance which one can see from the media. Whenever something happens, whether a terrorist attack such as 9/11 or this rampage in LA, the question as to why these things happen are never asked. It's as if they don't care or don't wanna know. They're more focused on just what the person is doing but not why. Why it's happening doesn't matter because one has no excuse to do that no matter how bad one is feeling about something. This attitude has to go. This was one reason why those Bin Laden tapes(even though they were bogus to begin with) were not played anymore. If one had paid a little attention, just a little and if Americans were capable of questioning and thinking for themselves, they would quickly learn why "those" people were angry. But these things are just ignored, the same way FOX news pretends racism don't exist anymore. Racism is all around us and only an idiot and someone totally naïve can not see that. Of course they got rid of "whites only" signs but they have modified it well. An apartment complex won't say they don't want blacks or Mexicans so what they do is just jack up the rent/home prices to the point where only someone with a well paying job can afford it. Then you have the many blacks and browns who have felonies, mostly for drugs, child support and other silly things, and that can be used to discriminate also, and not to mention perfect credit, as if there is such thing. These are just some examples of racism and then there is also discrimination against class. You have the few wealthy who don't give a fuck about the rest and can do whatever they want. Most of them are white except for the few uncle toms. Being poor is considered a crime and property value is based on race. Places which are predominantly white seem to be more expensive to live in and that's their way of saying "don't come here". So this nonsense about black history month and MLK needs to be laid to rest. Racism was never taken care of and it remains very active. A black family who wants a decent education for their children must move to "better" area and that area belongs to whites and one has to be able to afford it. Racism and decades of oppression has turned black people into who they are supposed to be. Then there comes a soldier or a cop every now and then who is fed up and decides to go on a rampage and give them a doze of their own medicine. How about talk about why this is happening in LA and why darkies are angry, and not just what the person is doing. Why it is happening is more important and reforming our the system is the solution. --------------------- |
