My uncle worked for years at IBM in a special think tank division...the building had Japanese gardens and serene music and no phones...the engineers actually sat around day dreaming....he had several patents, for IBM of course. He told me of one engineer who showed up at work with a stainless steel box the size of a small suitcase...it was a gas engine that got some ridiculous mileage and had about ten moving parts...the engines we use are as old as the hills...the idea that technology, which got us to the moon and then some, still has to use pistons and valves and crankshafts, like Henry Ford did, is a bit silly...
