Belief in God is not a necessity. It is a beginning, but not the goal. Any altruistic atheist would be closer to God than, say Bush. ...couldn't agree with you more...it isn't "belief in god", it's that belief in a god, or a cookie monster does not make them REAL. It isn't my "belief" which makes Darwinian evolution true, the truth is IN Darwinian evolution....but there is no truth in god...only belief in god. > > The majority, and the most eminent scientist, are all nonbelievers or atheists > >I think the majority are agnostic. Science and reason leads us to agnosticism, not atheism. ..if that were true then science would lead us to believe in the Easter Rabbit, walking on water and a Cookie Monster too, but it doesn't...science and reason leads directly to NO REASON AT ALL to believe in Gods or Easter Bunnies. Anywhere beyond that requires the element of faith. But those who do believe (like Francis Collins), are not "brainwashed". They are rational just like the rest. ,,,Collins is a favorite "example" for your side...wise people in some things can be stupid in others....give me a scientist when he's five and I'll make a Buddhist out of him, or anything else you like. > > Most of the stories in religious scriptures can't be verified or proven and much more > >Of course not. Can any historical event be verified? ...of course. That doesn't even require a single example. Well okay, The Vietnam War happened. --------------------- |
