you got to realize how many religions there are in this world, and only one is true, that means everyone else will be in hell. I do not believe in life after death. To me, heaven is the state of being in harmony with the ultimate truth. In my opinion, every religion contains some manifestations of that truth. Belief in God is not a necessity. It is a beginning, but not the goal. Any altruistic atheist would be closer to God than, say Bush. The majority, and the most eminent scientist, are all nonbelievers or atheists I think the majority are agnostic. Science and reason leads us to agnosticism, not atheism. Anywhere beyond that requires the element of faith. But those who do believe (like Francis Collins), are not "brainwashed". They are rational just like the rest. Most of the stories in religious scriptures can't be verified or proven and much more Of course not. Can any historical event be verified? --------------------- |
