I'm learning that while slowly reading the first chapter of Dr. Joseph's book (thanks to Pancho). Duz maret, Aturaye eva Akkadnaye, we don't speak or write Akkadian, or worship Assur or Ishtar (well, maybe some us do). And I didn't know that about the Coptic (being Greek and all).. I knew a beautiful Coptic girl who rejected me because she thought I was Muslim,. then, she got friendly when she learned my father was Assyrian. This time I rejected her. I have no patience for religious bigotry.. my god's better than theirs and all that jive. The connectedness of the indiginous to the land, the planet and the universe fascinates me, too. The other night I learned that the Iroquois Indians of the Mid-West were the most democratic people in history -- more so than the Greeks. Then the Europeans came and destroyed their political system, culture, etc. --------------------- |
