It was De Lacy O'leary who said in his book that the claim about Islam being forced on people at point of sword is a myth. “History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myth that historians have ever repeated.” He clearly states there have been historians who have made such claims in the past but they weren't being real historians. They were prejudice and so prejudice that even other prejudice historians called them out on it. It's pretty bad when when one historian who is prejudice against Islam accuses another historian of being prejudice. Sir William Muir was never shy about attacking Islam, yet he even admitted that some of the things stated about Muhammad and Islam by some Christian writers were so far off that it was impossible for anyone in Europe to get some facts about Islam. Those "historians" that De Lacy was talking about were those of old who carried every prejudice in them and put that in writing. They weren't telling the truth and doing their jobs as writers of history. It's no different from Bet-Shlimon who basically wrote his own Quranic "verses" and says "boom". There is no historian today who makes such claims against Islam anymore. It was the ones from the past who made such absurd claims and lies and the amateurs follow them. This is where anyone who makes such claims about Islam gets it from or they watch FOX "news" and say "see what Muslims are doing". I wouldn't recommend anyone to get information on Judaism from KKK and I wouldn't suggest learning Islamic hostory from FOX news or prejudice Christian writers, or the new atheists such as Harris and Maher. --------------------- |
