...they may say they are atheists...but they grew up in and only know a kind of behavior that is still heavily religious in every other way, except maybe the belief in a god...they still treat honest dissent as if it was heresy, evil, treachery to a Supreme Being, or Supreme Idea. They are fit for Tyrranies, not democracy...to them democracy has simply measnt their chance to play dictator. They are hopelessly religious because at its core this "Assyrian identity" is ENTIRELY religious...its very basis is "you MUST be Christian". Even if they are atheists, they cannot bear the idea of a Muslim being Assyrian...it goes against everything they were ever taught. --------------------- |
