The system is geared towrard repackaging an authentic expression and mass-producing it for endless profits. The same thing that happened to Rap happened to Rock n Roll. Everyone talks about the beauty of Woodstock, about how it was a free concert, a magnificant gathering, the incredible spontaniatey of the music and the whole happening. All that changed within less than a year when the business aspect took over and shaped the "Rock Star" image along with its narcisitic world of over-indulgence and mediocre music. By the late '70s and earlly '80s, most Rock bands sounded alike. The same is true of Hollywood. From 1967, films like "Bonnie and Clyde" and "Midnight Cowboy" moved further away from the demands of the Studio System, and the result was, a collection of finer American films like "The Godfather" and "Taxi Driver" that were distinct from one another and had something to say about humanity, society, culture, and politics. But with the movies of Spielberg and George Lukas, the paradigm shifted from film art to blockbuster pictures, where all the movies began to follow a formula, and like Rock music and Rap, they all looked and sounded the same.
