It's a style perfect for carnival barkers and patent medicine peddlers, card sharks and sidewalk con-men." -- True, I agree, but I would still add that the the shift in the style of filming came from a new type of fast-paced style of shooting film or video that really started with Godard's 1959 "Breathless" and was paid homage to by Tarantino in his 1992, "Reservoir Dogs" and 1994's, "Pulp Fiction" and also Oliver Stones' 1994, "Natural Born Killers" (which was written by Tarantino). During that period, MTV began to use and employ the same style... and most videographers, film makers and cinematographers had to have on their resumes some sort of project resembling this frenzied style to be able to get their next gig. As far as the audience goes, the first question I ask is 'what is the average age of film audiences'? Since the rise of Spielberg and Lucas, the average age has been 16-24. And just as the style in films changed in the early 1980's due to the box office smash hits in the mid-'1970's of "Jaws" and "Star Wars", the new generation of film audiences wanted the new style for they found it to be more exciting. But here I'm mainly referring to cinema, although styles in cinema usually influence Tv with new trends which videographers ultimately emulate. All one has to do is to study the films and programs of the early '90s and compare them to the '80s decade, or the '70s and '60s. But I totally agree with the way you breakdown the Neo-con's "con-game" in totally confusing the audience by "presenting both sides" by yelling at each other. Chomsky was said that the reason he never gets invited on CNN or any other mainstream news channel is that he is not "concise". So, as he says, if he were to say that the "U.S. is the largest sponsor of terrorism", he would need at least one uninterrupted hour to explain what he means, otherwise he ends up looking like a "kook" or "conspiracy theorists". By the way, this is an 8-minute debate between the beautiful Rula Jebreal vs some Saudi piece of shit, lying-ass, misogynist "General" (fuck you, "General" al- Wahhab!) Rula's beauty is beyond words... as a former Black & White photographer, I'd love to photograph her in the nude, with clothes, or just a shot of her face.
