-- If you recall, when the Da'esh story broke out when they first attacked and occupied the vast areas in Iraq, the first thing I said was that this smells too much like the outcome of the Khmer Rouge, who after the U.S secret carpet bombing of Cambodia's villages near the Vietnam border led to the emergence of the nihilistic Khmer to enter the city, at first as "heroes", but very quickly they put their barbaric philosophy to action by seeking out the intellectuals and cosmopolitans and brutally and slowly torturing them to death -- especially those who were deemed to be cultured and those who could read. The Khmer, under Pol Pot, wanted to establish what the Wahhabi mass murderers are doing now: regressing back to an anti-civilized era, by attacking art, science, and any thing that they rendered as "progressive". Finally, when the Vietnamese liberated what was left of the Cambodian survivors, Pol Pot and his gang retreated to the Thai/Cambodian border, from where they continued an asymmetrical warfare with the aide of us and the Chinese, in addition to diplomatic enabling in the U.N. where Cambodia was being represented by Pol Pot and his ministers. Something similar is taking place now. The U.S. announced that a military attack against Da'esh would be in the distant future -- not now, when it is needed most. So, the Iranians took it upon themselves (with the green-light from the Iraqi government) to set out to fight Da'esh and recapture Tikrit, Saddam's birthplace... which as far as now, has taken the U.S by surprise... especially because the Iranian/Iraqi strategy is seeming to work. I bet in a few days, the Congress will issue some more sanctions against the Iranians for doing what the U.S. talks about, and yet has not put into action or practice. This seems to be a bit too similar to the Vietnamese call into action to help save a neighboring state. Fuckin' politics! --------------------- |
