A few years ago bet-shlimon tried to explain what happened with the assyrians, and his answer was that there was no nationalism back then and they were more focused on christianity and not so much with ancient assyrians. What that punk did not mention is they knew nothing about them. It's not a matter of not being interested but they knew nothing of them and suddenly every nestorian is a die hard assyrian and just loves the ancients so much and will raise hell if he is called an arab or the ancients are linked to arabs in any way possible. These people have always been shady and dishonest and this assyrian nationalism is just more of their scandalous ways. They want to deceive and try to fool the world. This is about gaining something from a land filled with oil. Why wouldn't they mind being called assyrians and linked to the ancients if it will gain them something? That punk jumblat also tried to say people wouldn't just accept a name if it were not really theirs, but why the fuck wouldn't they? They have every reason to want that name because it makes them feel better and then they think it will help their indigenous claims. These assholes were reading the jewish porn book and heard about the ancient assyrians yet it never occurred to them that those were their ancestors that them jewish child molesters were ridiculing. So it wasn't about not being interested but more like not even knowing about them except for the bullshit in the bible and they weren't relating themselves to those "evil" people from the bible, who were throwing "babies" into the fire. But when the white man came with a cross and told them they were assyrians and then seeing the magnificent findings in the 1840, who but a fool would resist that? And why not separate themselves from the muslims if they can have an identity of their own? There are arabs and muslims all over iraq, and if there weren't any christians there, the british would have been in big trouble or they would have to find another strategy. But they happened to find christian peasants living there who also happened to speak aramaic so they must be "assyrian" and without proof, of course. The chaldeans were already using their own label so now the nestorians had theirs, too, but it didn't just stop there. Then came along aprim, dadeesho and other christians, who know nothing about the ancients, and they say every nestorian is assyrian and every chaldean, suryoyo and whatever else there is all must be assyrians. There are no babylonians, arameans, etc, but only assyrians. If things get a little too illogical, they just say all of the different ancient people who lived in mesopotamia were assyrians so "haha" in little ashur's words. Problem solved just like that. The jew porn book says that aram and asshur were brothers so all the ancients were the same. They get their history from bible. --------------------- |
