The problem with these nationalists is that they don't seem to care or know the difference between an opinion and a fact. You bring them a fact and they bring their opinion and tell you " we each have our own opinions". That is true but there is difference between an opinion and an established fact. They want say that Christianity can't be blamed for what the millions of Christians have done(the same people that attack Islam with anything even if the person only had an Arabic name)but the case with Christianity is different. Yes one may say Christianity teaches peace, and one may say Hitler was a bad Christian, but where did Hitler get his hatred for Jews from? Last time I checked, the New Testament appears very negative toward Jews and accuses them of having Jesus killed. The church and clergy also caused much of the hatred toward Jews. The question is where did these Christians get their hatred from if not from their religion? The New Testament even blames the fall of Jerusalem on the Jews and what they supposedly did to Jesus. If Hitler were not a Christian, why else would he have been so hateful toward Jews and why would he have killed them as "evil Christ Killers"? Would he have cared if he were a Hindu or a Buddhist? I don't think so. The same goes for the other Christians in history such as Columbus, Constantine, etc. Where did they get their influence from? The Romans were brutal before Christianity, but it was only after they converted that they began killing people just for religion or began forcing people to convert to this new faith. Were they not reading the scriptures where Jesus supposedly tells his followers to go and "preach the gospels"? Did they preach it as they were commanded? No they did not because even today the Christian missionaries all over the world have to use all kinds of dirty tactics in order to gain converts and they still haven't done a good job. So there is big difference between an opinion and a fact, and the things we say aren't just our opinions but historical facts. Things we can back up with reliable sources. This is not the same as a typical Gewargis telling us that Muslims killed Assyrians and Christians yet the only thing he car bring is his own words which he heard from Qasha Potros. I am not going to sit here and say that in 1,400 years no Christians were killed by Muslims but I will say that Muslims did not do what Christians did even though they had all the time and power to do so. The ignorant and the Jumblats who make such slanders can only do so with people of their mentality because the moment they try that with a normal person they'll be in trouble. They know they are stupid because they would not have survived to this day for 1,400 years if they were killed, persecuted and forced to convert at the point of sword. How many years would have taken the Muslims who defeated Byzantium and Persia and ruled over 3 continents for many centuries to convert people by force, especially the few Syriacs? Not very long. It's funny that they have churches and people of all kinds of religions still living and survived in Muslim countries yet we are told Muslims were intolerant and forced conversions. Look at the Buddhists of Tibet, Hindus and others who came under Islam, why are they still around? Are these opinions too? --------------------- |
