...that's very true and should always be kept in mind...and after all it isn't very different from Christian behavior after Martin Luther when they engaged in all sorts of horrific behavior against their own neighbors and often family members....Catholics did horrible things to Protestants and vice versa...so, yes, these ARE the same people with a history of brutalizing each other and murdering each others children...they did it to each other as Christians and they did it to the Jews but ALL of them their own fellow neighbors...but of a different religion.

I think all together 30 million Christians were killed by other Christians during the Religious Wars...I once did the math and it came to 622 dead Christians every hour of every day for 30 years....that was a holocaust before the name was born.
