-- As far as I know, Assyrians in Iran are pretty content with their status there, even though they may not like the clerics, like the Christians in Syria who may not like Assad, but would rather live under him than to go through a civil war or an attack from the West. And I'm not against Assyrian nationalism and the Christian religion, I'm against all types of nationalism and religions. Also, the Azeris, the Qurds and the Baluchis have a longer record of grievances regarding a history of abuse and discrimination from ethnic Persians than do Assyrians. Azeris already attempted to break away from Iran with the help of Iranian communists, but it didn't last long. Same with the Qurds. The two ethnic groups had been mistreated both under Malka and Khomeini. Assyrians in Iran, and also Armenians and Jews, don't face the same type of bigotry as do the above named Muslim groups, so there's no need for them to want an autonomous region. But I could be wrong... The other reason I said 'I doubt it' is based strictly on past promises (not that anyone promised Assyrians in Iran anything), but the bullshit promises the West made Assyrians (twice) and then walked away and left them standing with their dicks in one hand, and the Bible in the other.
