>Jesus did not propose political solutions. He did not call for the liberation of Judea, and he did pay taxes to Caesar. ...he wasn't against slavery either, or genocide, or mass murder.... So this means that the above cannot be motivated by Christianity. You say that Christianity is violent and the evidence you provide are the wars waged by the west. I don’t think this is sufficient evidence. There could be many other causes for those wars other than religion. As far as I know, the MidEastern history was also fraught with wars between nations, tribes, and those of different sects. They were always at each other’s throats, and that was the main reason for the crusader’s success. It’s also not enough to say that Hitler said he was a Christian. Saddam pretended to be as Muslim as it gets. The best way to prove that the Christianity is violent is to draw from the bible sentences which show that Jesus, or his disciples, exhorted or condoned violence under any circumstances. --------------------- |
