..he was also the father of modern advertising at the same time....what is advertising of products but propaganda? It has all the same characteristics.

1. You tell wonderful lies.

2. You play into people's fantasies and wishes.

3. You suppress the truth.

4. You use bogus experts and charts and props (like Bibi with his cartoon bomb poster).

5. And you demonize the "other"...in the case of political propaganda it's Jews, or Muslims or Native Americans or Student Radicals or Communists or Muslims....in advertising propaganda the villain is dirt, headaches, limp dicks, cavities, bad breath etc...and the "cure" for all of these, whether communism or tooth decay, is promoted through false claims and simplistic "attacks" and snake oil...all of it meant to enrich the one providing the propaganda/advertising with money and power, and almost always to the detriment of the target audience.

The methods are the same and the aim is the same; trick people with what seems like truth but hides it in reality, and to your benefit, not theirs.
