...even if we gave them all they asked for....accepted that they are Assyrians etc., we're still left with the ridiculous claim that only Christians can be Assyrians. ...what happened to, "if you're born in Assyria, you are Assyrian"? Where did that go? ...what if Tatian had been Muslim, would he still count as an Assyrian? ..they tell you it's genetic, it's all about DNA, that it's ethnic etc., and definitely NOT a mere religious Christian sect...and then they tell you that if you convert to Islam (especially Islam) you are no longer Assyrian...what changed in your DNA...what changed in your blood, your ethnicity, your Race? All that changed is your religion, which you can change and change and change again...does your DNA change every time you change religions? ...the more reasonable among them (which isn't saying much) appear to be open minded when they say that a Muslim can be Assyrian if he adopts "Assyrian Culture"...and when you ask just what Assyrian culture is, they tell you "Christmas, Easter, church on Sunday, belief in Mor this and Mor that", so that in essence what they're saying is that if a Muslim converts to Christianity, follows all rules and obligations of Christianity, he too can be ASSYRIAN! At every turn, at every crossing stands an idiot. --------------------- |
