The last film I saw with Jim "the Jesus guy" was titled, "The Stoning of Soraya M" in which he played a French/Iranian journalist/hero who exposes the dark, barbaric practices of "Sharia" in a small Iranian village. Seducing the viewer's ignorance, and tapping into the collective memory of christ killing, the film's stoning scene pays homage to (ripps-off) the slow motion Sado/Masochisim of Gibson's Jesus, as Soraya, dressed in white, with out-stretched-Christ-posture, is crucified by Islamic stones.

Sir Alec and Sir Peter... weren't they amazing in "Lawrence of Arabia"? Of course, you can't overlook the Mexican giant, Anthony Quinn, who's line: "I am a river to my people!" is being recycled by the likes of Qazzafi (however his name's spelled) and most megalomaniacs.
