I read Jim Garrison's book...he had good evidence and leads...it's a chilling story, really. America just isn't ready for the truth about empires, like theirs. The ordinary American, happy to own a color teevee and be able to pay the electricity for it, has no idea of what power money has on some people...empire-running people. The idea that war is now the biggest business this country has, just doesn't compute. It was very like Johnny Cochran's book about the OJ Simpson trial...people just did not want to believe that police have been setting up Blacks for decades, and that they especially like to get rich, successful Blacks, who are handsome and who attract their own white women. Everyone today who is still convinced OJ got away with murder bases his belief on the fact that the prosecution gets to go first...they get to call their chosen witnesses who then can say whatever the prosecutors fed them or picked them to say...so you hear all sorts of stuff that can only be challenged, at first, on cross-examination...so it all SOUNDS like it's going the prosecutor's way...people have forgotten, or never believed, the defense's case, which was presented after three months or more of prosecution "evidence". People forget that the entire case against OJ took a dive when Cochran asked that Mark detective, a later avowed racist, one simple question, under oath..."Mr Mark (something), have you ever planted evidence in a case?" Mr Mark, already advised by prosecutors that Cochran had hard evidence that he had, like all his buddies...took the Fifth. Why? Then there was the bloody shoeprint, the fancy Italian shoeprint that the prosecution said belonged to OJ...they even had an enhanced video close-up of OJ wearing THAT kind of shoe...and that stuck in everyone's pea-sized mind...it wasn't until months later that a slew of defense expert medical testimony showed that it wasn't a bloody shoeprint at all but natural pooling of blood in a cadaver...but who remembered that...because it went against their racial prejudice...OJ HAD to be guilty of murdering a white woman especially since you couldn't hang a Black man anymore for fucking one. OJ sits in jail today, paying for his stupidity, and for NOT being convicted of a murder, two murders, he didn't commit, and not for the petty nonsense they got him on in Nevada. --------------------- |
