"Bill Maher had an interesting observation last night when discussing how mean and nasty tweets and other social media comments have become...he said he fully expects to be told to "fuck off and die" because he's controversial and sort of asks for it...but he pointed out rants against perfectly docile and noncontroversial people...hateful angry messages...a sort of blowing off of nasty steam which he says is growing in pressure in America...and he puts it down to a realization that the "American Dream" is being seen by more and more people as a fraud, and that they are never going to get out of poverty...so they're pissed and resentful and ready to hate...."hope" is gone from the mindscape so it's time to blame someone, anyone, especially anyone successful...that other person;s success is just proof that you are unworthy etc."
