You know what brother Pancho, you got a hell of a point there, I never thought about that. They get real sensative when someone mistakens them for Syrian, they say "no no, not Syrian, but Assyrian". Your absolutely right though why don't they just accept Syrian instead since ppl already know what that is, and there shouldn't be no problem after all it's the same name right? they know damm well it's not the same name and they only further fooling themselves with the name issue. If it is all the same, why not add the 17 million Syrians as part of the same nation, but of course there are different religions among them and Assyrian is only a Christian denomination. It's already impossible to be Mormon or Seven Dat adventist while trying to be Assyrian, imagine adding another 17 million ppl of which the greater part is Islamic. Very good point though and they need to think about that.
