"It's not very grand, like the Detroit Film Theatre (which is a single-screen, incredible theatre). It's actually very plain, and I was saddened that they didn't even have theatre seating. Regardless, the team that runs the theatre is very nice, and they have a great taste in movies. What can I say, I like to support "the little guy" :-)"

-- No theatre seating? What... just folding chairs and beanbags? Well, whatever works, I guess. As long as the films are good and the viewers are as serious as you in helping out "the little guy". In my neighborhood, that is if you recall, we have one of the oldest cinemas in L.A., just a few steps from my apartment. It's called the Nuart Theatre, and each Friday and Saturday midnight young and old people get dressed up (no matter how cold) in characters from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and stand in long queues to watch that classic film for the umpteen time on the screen while performing acts from the movie in and around the theatre in front of the screen where there is a stage. AND, before I forget, if have Netflix watch the film, "Call Me Lucky", about the stand-up comedian Barry Crimmins (who blows Maher away... really!) since he's the real-deal. This documentary will blow your mind... and make you cry... and get you angry... but fill you with hope. Crimmins, like myself, is a "recovering Catholic" (ex-Catho) and such a brilliant mind. He is the Noam Chomsky of comedy; as a matter of fact, in Mass there is a clip of him with Chomsky and another with Zinn. One of my favorite lines from him is when he talks about how people tell him to leave the country (something akin to what some are told when critiquing policies: "go back to where you came from!"). Crimmins' reply to these folks is quite funny and true when he tells them that if he were to leave the U.S. he's concerned about becoming a target of U.S. foreign policy...
