You said it right, there is nothing for Turkey to apologize for. I use to believe in this genocide myth too until I realized about 2 years ago that there was no genocide in 1915 at all. Sure, people died from all sides mostly due to cold winters, diseases and starvation but the Turks did fight back against those Christians in the Eastern side of the area. They at least didn't kill women, children and anything that got in its way but seized and executed the men of military ages in the area where the trouble was at. Sure it was a tragedy but it was not a genocide and Turkey was not trying to kill them because they were Christians or else they would have done so the entire time that the Ottoman empire was strong but they instead allowed the religious minorities to live as Dhimmis.

Turkey is now right for not aplogizing for a "genocide" because it never happened.
