In Akkadian, the word for "peace" was "salmu" and in Arabic it's "salaam". Hebrew and Aramaic are common for having words which have the sh sound rather than the s sound. Just like Hebrew and Aramaic use the kh which sounds like someone wants to spit while Arabic uses the h more and Akkadian did also. There is no Assyrian language today as it is extinct but there is Syriac and some dialects of Aramaic. These are not Assyrian even though Fred Aprim, who is an amateur, claims that they are other words for Assyrian. --------------------- |
