You reminded me of the time I had a little chat with this "Assyrian" girl who was desperate to "prove" that the modern Chaldean Catholics are nothing more than an invention of the Vatican. When I told her that the same applied for her "Assyrian" identity which was also invented by the Brits, her response was "what's truth for you is not truth for me". In other words, They take their opinions as "solid facts" the same way a sane person takes an established fact to be reality. To these people their opinions and prejudices are more superior than established facts that are learned in schools, colleges and university. It is no wonder that they are willing to argue with their sorts of "proofs" against professionals such as Dr John Joseph. I am sure Dr Joseph was raised with the same prejudices but he had to put them aside and eventually eliminate them or else it be impossible to become a real historian. This is a big problem among Christians in general, and not just our stupid nationalists; even though our nationalists are the most absurd when it comes down to it but I noticed it to be more of a Christian thing. A perfect example was the well known Sir William Muir, who was a Christian orientalist, and wrote a great deal about Islam and Muhammad. Today his works are condemned by historians and scholars alike, yet there are still those type of low class and prejudice Christians who are still willing to quote guys like that as "proof". I had another debate the other day over the internet with an Evangelic Christian who was making all kinds of claims about the Quran and I encouraged him to stop relying on information from his pastors and ministers but rather do your own research. It was clear to me that this guy had never read the Quran or else he would not have made the claims about certain verses in the book which are not even in there. They take their opinions, prejudices and stories they hear from their leaders or families as "solid facts". If we tell them to stop listening to their pastors and priests, they tell me that's like us saying stop listening to the Quran, which is again just another silly answer no different than the "what's true to me is not true to you". These are little tricks I've seen common among Christians yet I am always called "anti-Christian" for pointing out their dirty tactics and they get pissed for it. There was another punk who claimed to be an Atheist yet this guy went to great lengths to defend the trinity and try to explain it to me as if I am the first to reject this. I wondered why an atheist, who doesn't give a shit would go out of his way to defend a silly doctrine invented by people long after Jesus, but it wasn't long before he was caught with his pants down. Does this sort of behavior ring a bell to anyone on here? I think it does. The brave warrior "Minime" tried to play that game with me when he said he didn't give a "shit about religions" yet here he was going out of his way to defend the Eucharist and even deny the fact that this is performed by all Christian with just a minor variation in interpretation. The hate history and they wouldn't even send their children to school if they had it their way. There is no way these sorts of people would have the patients and manors to study history at a university and actually make a profession out of it. They rather take a short cut by writing "books" and going to their "print shops" to get them published. They'll quote trashy people just like themselves in their books and call it "proof". After that, we'll see them getting congratulated on their forums by their ass kissers and others will read their "books" and say "I have studied the evidences" like that heifer from the other forum tried to tell the guy who was questioning their "Assyrian" identity. This alone is enough to reject their claims of "direct descent" because i couldn't imagine a people with such a great history and heritage would refuse history and knowledge over the opinions of their vampire priests who have been misleading them for almost 2,000 years. They still believe that the ancient Assyrians were just ready to embrace this new corrupt version of Judaism with open arms, yet I finished reading "when Jesus became god" and the author shows how Constantine made Christianity the official religion of his empire and the only acceptable religion. If others were killed, persecuted and forced to convert, how else were these morons spared by the Romans. This is why they have create their own version of history where they claim they were the first to "convert" and did so out of love and free choice. A few of them may have accepted it by choice or for some benefit but it wasn't accepted as a whole by choice. The Christian Bishops and priests received their pay from Rome and there is no way they would turn this down for remaining truthful. On the one hand, they deny the history of their own religion and make bogus claims about Assyrians being forcefully converted to Islam. When asked for proof, they'll quote some Syriac monk who supposedly stated something but none of these claims are proven by historians. on the other hand, historians tell us the exact opposite of what they claim. If there was any such evidence, historians would have provided it and they would be quick to slap us away with it since we are challenging them. --------------------- |
