If some of the Christians do have some connection to the ancient Assyrians, it's no more than an Arab or a Kurd would and it wouldn't just be to the Assyrians but also the Babylonians, Amorites and others. How the fuck can one be directly connected to a people who themselves were mixed up and how the hell does one be only oonnected to one group and not all the others who also existed and had civilizations and great history?

The ancient Assyrians were wiped out the same way Akkadians and Sumerians before them. They ceased to exist as an identity, they lost their history, language, culture and religion but not their blood. Of course many were slaughtered which can be expected but there is nobody who has said every single Assyrian of antiquity was annihilated.
